Kernow Community, Kowethas Kernow, is a vision for an independent, non-denominational Monastic Order and dispersed community based in north Cornwall, exploring the earliest Celtic and Jewish expressions of Christianity with a view to finding the ‘ancient paths’ for today.
We are Dispersed:
Although we are based in Cornwall, you can join us from anywhere in the world.
We are Monastic:
We are taking our cue from the monastic tradition, following a Rule, a Way of Life and a regular pattern of Prayer.
We are Ecumenical:
We are non-denominational – we welcome members from all Christian traditions and none, with the intention of learning together and developing friendly communication and understanding between denominations.
We are Celtic:
Our focus is on exploring the ancient expressions and pattern of Celtic Christianity.
We are Messianic:
We are Jewish and gentile, looking also at the early Jewish expression of Christianity, particularly with reference to the similarities between early Jewish and Celtic Christianity.
We are Inclusive:
We are open to men and women, single or married, lay or clergy. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender or sexual orientation.
