I lived in Sweden for a little while. I was once married to a Swede. My degree, that one I didn’t finish, was in Scandinavian Studies, with a year abroad in Stockholm.

I haven’t been back in 15 years – 5 of those years involved having babies, and the last 10 have involved being ill. But I still consider my Swedish connection to be an important feature of my life and interests.

It’s definitely on my list of things to do when times are less hard, to go back and introduce my children, or re-introduce in the case of my eldest, to the land they have heard me rave so much about.
